I’ve been demo trading for about three months now, and I’m wondering if I’m ready to take on a funded challenge. My win rate is around 60% and I’ve been consistent with risk management never risking more than 1–2% per trade But I still feel nervous about jumping into a paid challenge. How long did you all practice on demo before going live? Is there a right amount of time or is it more about hitting certain benchmarks like drawdown control and emotional discipline
solid win rate and risk management for three months is decent, but demo and a funded challenge are two totally different beasts when the pressure hits. instead of stressing over a specific timeframe, u might wanna run your numbers through a max lot calculator to map out your max drawdown limits so floating PnL doesn't mess with your head. as long as u keep your discipline locked in under challenge rules, the actual amount of time spent practicing doesn't matter nearly as much.
three months of decent win rates and risk management is proper solid tbh. but once u hit a challenge the mental gets fried real quick, so running your numbers through something like fxfan's max lot calculator to map out the drawdown beforehand is dead easy. sorting out the math beats stressing over some arbitrary timeframe any day.
