Question 1

What is Trade The Pool?

Accepted Answer

Trade The Pool is a proprietary trading firm operating under Five Percent Online Ltd., registered in Israel, that provides traders with up to $200,000 in buying power to trade U.S. stocks and ETFs. Unlike many prop firms that focus on forex or futures, Trade The Pool specializes exclusively in equities, including penny stocks and IPOs, with no PDT rule restrictions. The firm offers both Flex evaluations with unlimited time and Max evaluations with a 60-day deadline, and once funded, traders keep up to 70% of their profits on standard programs and 80% on the Edge program. Trade The Pool also stands out for its 24/5 trading capability via Blue Ocean, allowing traders to access more than 3,500 stocks and ETFs during overnight sessions when traditional exchanges are closed.

Question 2

Does Trade The Pool offer challenge account?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Trade The Pool operates on a two-stage challenge model where traders must first pass an evaluation account before becoming funded. The evaluation involves reaching a 6% profit target for day trading accounts or a 15% target for swing trading accounts while respecting daily loss and maximum drawdown limits. Traders can choose between Flex, which has no time limit, or Max, which imposes a 60-calendar-day deadline for day trading and 100 trading days for swing accounts. Once the evaluation target is met, the account is disabled, undergoes a risk review, and if approved, the trader receives a new funded account with real profit-withdrawal capability.

Question 3

What are the Trade The Pool drawdown rules?

Accepted Answer

Trade The Pool implements a daily pause rather than a traditional daily loss limit on most accounts, meaning if your account hits the daily pause threshold (2% for day trading Flex, 1% for Max, 3% for swing), open positions are closed and trading is paused until the next trading day but your account remains active. The maximum drawdown for day trading accounts is 4% for Flex and 3% for Max, while swing accounts carry a 7% maximum drawdown; reaching this limit results in permanent account termination. For the Edge program, the daily loss is calculated on an end-of-day basis at 2.5% for a $50,000 account and 1.8% for a $100,000 account, and unlike the daily pause, hitting this daily loss permanently disables the account.

Question 4

What is the Trade The Pool smart drawdown?

Accepted Answer

Trade The Pool doesn't use the term "smart drawdown," but it offers a dynamic drawdown system that adjusts when profits are realized. Once an account reaches three times the daily loss in equity, including unrealized profits, the maximum drawdown resets to the initial account balance - going below that level results in termination. The daily pause itself always references the starting-day balance and does not recalculate intraday, even if the max loss level adjusts mid-session; it only recalibrates at the start of the next trading day. This mechanism prevents traders from giving back significant unrealized profits while still maintaining a protective floor tied to the initial balance.

Question 5

Which trading strategies are prohibited on Trade The Pool accounts?

Accepted Answer

Trade The Pool enforces several rules that effectively prohibit certain high-frequency and scalping strategies. All trades must remain open for at least 30 seconds, and profitable trades must show a minimum $0.10 price movement between entry and exit - trades closed below that threshold don't count toward profit targets, though losses still count. A 5% position volume rule restricts opening trades to no more than 5% of the previous one-minute candle's volume, which limits oversized orders and aggressive position building on low-liquidity stocks. Additionally, an 8% volatility rule halts new positions in any stock that moves 8% within four minutes, preventing traders from chasing fast-moving momentum stocks. External automated copy-trading tools are also strictly prohibited, with only manual execution and limited platform-native copy trading allowed.

Question 6

Is news trading allowed on Trade The Pool accounts?

Accepted Answer

Yes, news trading is permitted at Trade The Pool, but with important restrictions. During overnight sessions, traders may open positions based on news that occurs before the market opens the next day. However, traders cannot open new positions on stocks reporting earnings on the same day, and the firm disables tickers at the end of the trading day before earnings are released. Additionally, any open positions in a stock scheduled to report earnings will be automatically liquidated at 3:50 PM ET regardless of whether it's a day trading or swing trading account.
