Question 1

1. What is thePropTrade and how does it work?

Accepted Answer

thePropTrade is a contemporary prop trading firm located in Dubai. With the help of this firm, traders get the opportunity to trade huge amounts of capital in the financial markets. What you do is, instead of using your own money, you trade the firm's funds and keep up to 90% of the profits. Passing an evaluation or getting instant funding to start trading right away is completely up to you.

Question 2

3. What is the thePropTrade Stability Score?

Accepted Answer

The Stability Score is a measure used in thePropTrade to ensure that you are not "gambling". To be able to make a payout on Instant and Edge accounts, your score has to be 25% or less. That means you shouldn't make all your profit from just one lucky trade. It pays to be a consistent and steady trader rather than making risky moves.

Question 3

4. What are the drawdown rules for these accounts?

Accepted Answer

* Daily Drawdown: You are not allowed to lose more than 3% (or 4% on 2-Step) of your balance during a day.
* Max Total Drawdown: Most of the accounts have a Trailing Lock. This means that the loss limit goes along with your profit until it gets back to your starting balance and then it stays there in order to secure the firm's capital.

Question 4

5. Can I trade during high-impact news events?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can trade news, but there is a "restricted window" around the news release. It is prohibited to open or close trades 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after major (red folder) news. A soft breach is what happens if you violate these rules, which means the profits from that particular trade are removed, but your account remains active.

Question 5

6. What is the 1% Risk Rule?

Accepted Answer

On Instant Funding accounts, you should not risk more than 1% of your account balance in a single trade idea. The main purpose of this rule is to enable you to exercise proper risk management and keep your account from going to zero too fast.
