EightCap Challenges is a prop firm launched in 2025 by the broker Eightcap Challenges. It's based out of Melbourne, Australia, and offers traders a direct path to a funded account with an 80-90% profit split. The firm is run by CEO Adam Bock and provides a range of challenge types, from standard One-Phase and Two-Phase evaluations to a unique "Day Trader" model for short-term speculators.
The pitch is straightforward: you get the backing of an established broker (Eightcap), low spreads, and multiple platform choices including MT4/5, TradeLocker, and TradingView.
What sets it apart is the Day Trader option, which is more of a high-stakes, fast-paced bet than a traditional evaluation. But more on that later.
EightCap Challenges is the evaluation arm of the Eightcap broker. It offers three distinct ways to get a funded account, each with its own set of rules, profit targets, and risk parameters.
The key value proposition is the direct broker link. Unlike many prop firms that use a third-party broker, EightCap Challenges uses its own, which can mean tighter spreads and faster execution for the trader. The firm operates globally but has a list of restricted countries, including Australia, Russia, and several others.
There are three EightCap Challenges evaluation types, and the choice depends on how you trade.
This is the standard "hunt or be hunted" model. For those traders who are confident in their trading skills and want to test firm rules while aiming to get funded fast then choose EightCap Challenges One Phase account type.
Target: 10% profit in one phase
Max Drawdown: 8% (on balance)
Daily Drawdown: 4%
Min. Trading Days: 5
Leverage: Forex 1:100, Commodities 1:20, Indices 1:30, Crypto 1:3
Profit Split: 80% (up to 90% with add-on)
Fees: Starts at $69 for a $5K account, up to $1,299 for a $200K account.
A slightly more forgiving path with two checkpoints. For those traders who want to familiar themselves with the firm’s trading rules and want balanced profit targets can go for the EighCap Challenges Two Phase account type.
Phase 1 (Assessment): 9% profit target.
Phase 2 (Qualification): 5% profit target.
Max Daily Drawdown: 5% (on balance)
Max Total Drawdown: 10%
Min Trading Days: 3
Max Trading Days: Unlimited
Leverage: Forex 1:100
Profit Split: 80% (up to 90% with add-on)
Fees: Slightly cheaper than the One Phase. Starts at $59 for a $5K, up to $1,199 for $200K.
This is not a traditional prop firm evaluation. It is a high-frequency, high-risk model designed for very short timeframes (1, 2, 4, or 8 hours).
Structure: You stake between $5 and $500, choose your leverage (2x, 5x, or 10x), and pick a time limit.
Profit Target: You must hit a fixed profit target within the time limit. If you do, you get paid out immediately.
Drawdown: The max drawdown is very tight. For example, the DT-1 (1 hour) with 10x leverage has a $17 max drawdown on a $5 stake.
Warning: This is essentially structured gambling. The odds are heavily stacked against the trader. It’s closer to a binary option than a funded account evaluation.
The EightCap Challenges rules are standard but there are a few specific nuances:
Trading Strategies and Activities Allowed:
Expert Advisors (EAs)
Weekend holding (positions can be held over the weekend)
Overnight holding
Low spreads starting from 0.0
Trading Strategies and Activities Prohibited:
Copy Trading: Not allowed with other users.
News Trading: No trades opens or closes 10 minutes before or after HIGH impact news events during the payout stage (5 minutes for Day Trader challenges).
Prohibited Strategies: Martingale, Hedging, Grid trading, Tick scalping, Account Management, Gap trading, Arbitrage & Market Abuse.
Duplicate IPs: Not allowed.
Inactivity: 30 days of non-trading activity leads to account closure.
EightCap Challenges supports top platforms and wide markets that are trusted by traders worldwide:
Platforms: MetaTrader 4/5, TradeLocker, and TradingView.
Instruments: Forex, Commodities, Indices, and Crypto.
The low spreads and direct broker connection are a genuine advantage here. The commission structure at EightCap Challenges is clear: Crypto is $0, US Stocks are $2 per lot (Day Trader only), and other instruments are $5 per lot at opening.
If you are consistently profitable, EightCap Challenges rewards you with a scaling path but it is not guaranteed. Here’s how it works:
Trigger: Achieve a minimum of 15% in payouts within a 4-month period, with at least 2 months of profitability.
Increase: Your balance can be increased by 25%.
Cap: Up to $1 million.
Note: All scaling requests are subject to internal risk assessment and are not guaranteed.
This is a decent plan, but the "not guaranteed" clause gives the firm an exit if they don't want to scale you.
The EightCap Challenges payouts are processed bi-weekly (every 14 days), or you can start receiving them as early as 3 days with an add-on.
Minimum Payout: $100.
Methods: Bank Transfer and Cryptocurrency.
Profit Split: Standard 80%, up to 90% with an add-on.
The bi-weekly payout is fast by industry standards, and the crypto option allows for quick, low-fee withdrawals.
Pros:
Direct broker integration with low spreads.
Multiple platform options (MT4/5, TradeLocker, TradingView).
Fast payout frequency (bi-weekly, even faster with add-on).
Clear and detailed rules.
Responsible trading guidelines (no gambling strategies).
Cons:
News trading restrictions are tight.
The "Day Trader" challenge appears to be a high-risk gambling product, not a real funding path.
Limited payout methods (only Bank Transfer and Crypto).
No refund on challenge fees.
The scaling plan is not guaranteed.
As EightCap Challenges is new in the prop firm industry (launched in 2025), there is limited public feedback. Even though it’s broker EightCap has been in the market for a relatively longer period the initial impressions from early adopters are cautious but positive, with traders appreciating the low spreads and fast platform execution. However, many are waiting to see actual payout proof before committing larger sums.
The main concern is the risk of hidden rule changes. The firm is new, and its track record is not yet established. We recommend waiting for a few months of payout cycles and independent trader reviews before jumping in.
Score: 7.5/10 (Provisional)
EightCap Challenges has the bones of a very good prop firm. The direct broker tie, low spreads, and multiple platform support are strong selling points. The standard One and Two Phase challenges are well-structured and competitively priced.
However, we have two major reservations.
First, the Day Trader challenge is a red flag. It is not a serious trader evaluation; it is a gambling product. We advise traders to avoid this model entirely.
Second, the firm is too new to have a verified track record. The "not guaranteed" scaling plan and the lack of a refund policy give the firm the upper hand in the relationship.
Our advice: If you are an experienced trader looking for a new challenge with a direct broker, the One Phase or Two Phase challenges are worth a look. But start small, track your payouts carefully, and do not scale up until the firm has proven itself with a few months of consistent payouts. For most traders, there are more established firms with longer track records that offer a safer bet.
If you understand the rules and know which account type best suits your trading style then you can can use the EightCap Challenges discount code: TRUSTED to save 20% off on One Phase and Two Phase challenges.
EightCap Challenges is a promising new entrant in the prop firm space, but it is unproven. The foundation is solid, but the final product needs time to mature.
We'll keep updating this prop firm review as EightCap Challenges might change rules or as new trader feedback comes in. If you've traded with EightCap Challenges, leave a review on The Trusted Prop to help other traders make informed decisions.
Risk reminder: Trading challenges involve risk. Most traders do not pass evaluations. Always read the firm's latest rules before buying. Never risk money you cannot afford to lose.
