Quick Overview
FTMO, founded in 2015 in the Czech Republic, is one of the most recognisable names in the proprietary trading industry. In mid-September 2026, the firm launched FTMO Futures, a dedicated futures evaluation product that lets traders trade futures contracts in a simulated environment using live CME market data. FTMO reports more than 4.5 million customers worldwide, over $650 million paid in rewards, and service in 140+ countries.
Key highlights:
Platforms Supported: NinjaTrader, Tradovate, and TradingView
Payout Split: 90/10 in favour of the trader
No Activation Fees: There are no activation fees and no intraday trailing drawdown
News Trading: Allowed
No Consistency Rule on Sim-Funded Accounts
Simulated Capital: Up to $450,000 across accounts
FTMO Futures – What Do You Actually Get?
The FTMO Futures journey follows a clear three-step path:
Evaluation: You trade in a simulated futures environment, hit the Profit Target, and respect the trading objectives. There is no time limit.
Sim-Funded Account: Once you pass the Evaluation, you receive a Sim-Funded Account. You can earn real payouts while trading simulated funds.
Live Funded Account: By invitation only, top performers may be considered for a Live Funded Account, with daily payouts after a one-time buffer is cleared.
You can hold up to three Sim-Funded Accounts at the same time, and there is no limit on the number of Evaluations you can run. Each account runs on its own monthly subscription. There is no maximum total capital allocation across accounts; the limit is simply the maximum number of Sim-Funded Accounts.
Important: All accounts provided by FTMO are demo accounts with fictitious funds, and trading is in a simulated environment only. FTMO does not act as a broker and does not accept deposits.
FTMO Futures Account Types and Rules
FTMO Futures offers two account tracks: Growth and Pro.
Growth Accounts
The Growth accounts by FTMO Futures are aimed at traders who want easier rules and more frequent payout opportunities. They use a soft daily loss limit on the Sim-Funded Account — a breach suspends trading for the day rather than terminating the account. The withdrawable amount is 50% of profit above the initial simulated capital.
Account | Price | Profit Target | Max Drawdown (EoD) | Daily Loss (Sim-Funded) | Payout Cap |
Growth $50K | $119/mo | $3,000 | $2,000 | $1,000 Soft | $2,500 |
Growth $100K | $169/mo | $6,000 | $3,500 | $2,000 Soft | $3,000 |
Growth $150K | $229/mo | $9,000 | $5,000 | $3,000 Soft | $4,000 |
Other FTMO Futures Growth features: Consistency Rule 40% (Evaluation only), max contracts 5/10/15, payout eligibility every 4 days with minimum daily profits of $150, $250, or $300 depending on account size.
Pro Accounts
The FTMO Futures Pro accounts are designed for traders who want full access to their profits and higher payout caps. Pro traders can withdraw 100% of profit above the initial simulated capital, with payout caps of $5,000, $6,000, or $8,000. Pro accounts use a hard daily loss limit — breaching it permanently terminates the account.
Account | Price | Profit Target | Max Drawdown (EoD) | Daily Loss (Sim-Funded) | Payout Cap |
Pro $50K | $139/mo | $3,000 | $3,000 | $1,000 Hard | $5,000 |
Pro $100K | $199/mo | $6,000 | $4,500 | $1,500 Hard | $6,000 |
Pro $150K | $269/mo | $9,000 | $6,000 | $2,000 Hard | $8,000 |
Other FTMO Futures Pro features: Consistency Rule 50% (Evaluation only), max contracts 5/10/15, payout eligibility every 5 days with minimum daily profits of $200, $300, or $500, and a target-to-drawdown ratio starting as low as 1:1 on some account sizes.
FTMO Futures Trading Rules
Allowed strategies and activities:
News trading
No intraday trailing drawdown
No consistency rule on Sim-Funded Accounts
No minimum trading days during the Evaluation
No activation fee
Drawdown trailing lock - once the max drawdown limit locks at the initial capital, it stays there
Prohibited strategies and activities:
Weekend holding
Overnight holding
Expert Advisors (EA) / algorithmic trading
A trading day is defined as the period from 6:00 p.m. ET to 4:10 p.m. ET on the following calendar day - this matters for daily loss limits, profit targets, and consistency calculations. The Consistency Rule applies only during the Evaluation: 40% for Growth and 50% for Pro.
FTMO Futures Scaling Plan
FTMO Futures includes a scaling plan that increases your maximum contracts as your simulated profit grows:
$50K account: starts at 2 contracts, scales to 5
$100K account: starts at 4 contracts, scales to 10
$150K account: starts at 6 contracts, scales to 15
If the account balance falls back, the contract limit can be adjusted downward again.
FTMO Futures Payout Rules & Withdrawal Methods
Payout rules are structured around qualifying trading days and payout caps:
Growth Accounts: 4 qualifying days with a minimum daily profit ($150, $250, or $300 depending on account size). Payouts can be requested every 4 days. Withdrawable amount is 50% of profit above initial capital, with caps of $2,500, $3,000, or $4,000.
Pro Accounts: 5 qualifying days with a minimum daily profit ($200, $300, or $500 depending on account size). Payouts can be requested every 5 days. Pro traders can withdraw 100% of profit above the initial capital, with caps of $5,000, $6,000, or $8,000.
All FTMO Futures accounts use a 90/10 payout ratio, you keep 90% of the requested payout while FTMO retains 10%. At least 50% of the requested payout amount must represent new profit generated in the current payout cycle. The minimum payout amount is $20.
Live Funded Account: Once you are invited and clear a one-time buffer, you can request daily payouts with no payout cap, while maintaining the 90/10 ratio. This is one of the most attractive long-term features of FTMO Futures.
Withdrawal methods include credit card, PayPal, debit card, and Revolut.

Final Verdict: Should You Choose FTMO Futures?
FTMO Futures is a credible and well-structured futures prop product from one of the most established names in the industry. The 90% payout ratio, scaling plan, news trading allowance, and lack of a consistency rule on Sim-Funded Accounts make it attractive for experienced, disciplined intraday futures traders.
It's likely a good fit if you:
Are a day trader or news-focused intraday trader who can respect strict loss limits
Want a high profit split and a realistic scaling plan
Prefer clear rules and a well-known brand with a strong payout track record
It's probably not the right fit if you:
Prefer swing trading or holding positions long-term (no overnight/weekend holding)
Rely on automated strategies (EA/algorithmic trading is prohibited)
Need flexibility around daily loss limits (Pro accounts are unforgiving; Growth accounts halt trading for the day)
As with any prop firm, most traders do not pass evaluations. Never risk money you cannot afford to lose, and always read the latest rules on FTMO's official website before purchasing. Remember that all FTMO accounts are simulated until a Live Funded Account is offered.
