How do you quickly decide whether the market is trending or just consolidating?
Look at structure, not indicators: Trending market: price makes consistent higher highs & higher lows (uptrend) or lower highs & lower lows (downtrend), with strong directional candles. Consolidation: price stays in a tight range, repeatedly bouncing between support and resistance with no clear break of structure.
